Refurbishment

The main entrance and staff offices were re-modelled and decorated with new carpets throughout. The spatial layout to the main library was also re-modelled with bespoke shopfitting items, new flooring and alterations to the mechanical and electrical services to the main areas, offices, study rooms, customer service areas and stairwells.

Modifications were made to the above ground drainage, fire alarm system, and selection of new light fittings, power and data were added to the main controls.

Ground and lower ground floor toilets were replaced with new solid laminate vanity units, toilet cubicles and associated sanitary ware. These works were phased to ensure there was safe access across the library from the main entrance and the toilets were decommissioned separately as the Library was open thoughout the refurbishment, with students and staff having access at all times.
