Restoration
Brief: To restore a medieval grade 2 listed building
Solution: The internal refurbishment included both repair and replacement of reeded ceilings using traditional techniques with lime plaster. All the windows had new bronze casements fitted in keeping with the age of the building.
Internally, oak repairs brought the former derelict building back to use with mortice and tenon, slip tenon joints and splice repairs with green oak.
Internally, careful execution and detailing has enabled concealed wiring to be installed to provide an office environment with LED lighting and concealed floor mounted data and power boxes that enable its use in a modern environment.
Solid Oak floors have been laid on the first floor with an oiled finish and the rafters have been exposed, overboarding with fermacell but concealing mechanical and electrical installations.
